It was the hot hand of Terrence Ross down the stretch that brought the Huskies back from behind to beat the visiting UCLA Bruins, for the 4th time, 71-69.

Ross led the Huskies with 22 points, scoring 10 of those in the towards the end of regulation to lift the Huskies and overcome a 10-point deficit.

The three-pointers were going in, the free-throws were going in. Everything worked as the frenzied Husky crowd got louder and louder.

The Bruins almost put the game into overtime when Norman Powell put a shot up from the baseline with 3 seconds left, but it didn't go in.

The Huskies, now 15-7 overall and 8-2 in the Pac-12, used to struggle against UCLA year in and year out in hoops, but they have a 4-game winning streak against the team out of Westwood and look to be positioning themselves for another exciting February.

Terrence Ross was simply on fire; his 3-pointer with just 1:20 left sent Hec-ed into delirium. Tony Wroten also posted 13 points for the night and Darnell Gant added 12.

Right now the Huskies await the score of the Cal game tonight to find out if they're still tied for first in the conference or if they'll sit alone atop the conference.

For UCLA, Josh Smith had a career-high of 24 -- as the Bruins' record goes to 12-10 overall.

UCLA: J. Smith 24 Pts, 9 Reb, 1 Ast, 1 Stl, 1 Blk

Washington: T. Ross 22 Pts, 4 Reb, 1 Stl, 2 Bl

Box Score

  1 2 F
  UCLA 34 35 69
  WASH 35 36 71
